I think the envelope is a good idea. But I think rather than just giving her a list someone should write more of a letter with the ideas, then we give herthe envelope and we read the letter out loud to her more like a prsentation type thing.
Can we put some funny ones on there too? These are ideas she can use the money for, right? Like “Entrance fee for a Scrabble tournament” Or “airfare to go to California and compete on Wheel of Fortune.”
I think that funny ones are a good idea. Also no one answered my question as to if this is just from the grandkids or not. Then if the envelope of money is what we are doing (whichi it sounds like it) who is going to make the list/letter and who is collecting the money? Also Cindy what is your home address?
I can make the letter/list….just tell me what everyone wants to say on it. Paul can collect the money and make the presentation? Also, my mom told me that Gram’s email has been broken for a long time…should we do something for that??
I am in Mexico City right now. Whereas I always encourage sending me large sums of money I am doubting that with the Mexican mail system the way it is that I would ever get it. I arrive on Sunday night so I won’t have a lot of time before that for people to see me or give me money. If someone can grab a BIG fancy envelope of some sort I’m more than happy to have everyone give me the money on Christmas eve and I’ll just put it into the envelope when Grandma isn’t looking and then we all can give it to her later.
I do think that this gift is from the Grandkids. Why do you keep asking who else wants to contribute? I’m not shy about letting others but my first impression with this gift is that it was from all of us.
I do believe the problem with Grandma’s email wasn’t an email problem but rather a computer problem which I believe has been resolved because I have received and email from her.

Hello everyone,
I am in Mexico City right now. Whereas I always encourage sending me large sums of money I am doubting that with the Mexican mail system the way it is that I would ever get it. I arrive on Sunday night so I won’t have a lot of time before that for people to see me or give me money. I do believe the problem with Grandma’s email wasn’t an email problem but rather a computer problem which I believe has been resolved because I have received and email from her.
See you all soon.

are we doing a grab bag this year?
Comment by Carrie — December 18, 2007 @ 11:26 am
Yeah, I think we’re doing the Grab Bag. Min’s original email mentioned the limit, I think it was $10.
